I spend a lot of time driving in crowded rush hour conditions. One thing I notice is that men are sluts with their eyes.
If she catches his eye, he will turn his head to look at her as he passes, his wedding ring and children momentarily forgotten.
I wonder if this happens a lot in public spaces: men probing with their eyes; examining, prying, feeling women up, optically speaking. I wonder whether women notice. I wonder whether they mind.
Oddly, I think women do it too, but mostly at other women, and not with sexual intent so much as in constant comparison.
We check out each other’s weight, outfit, bag, hair, shoes – you name it we ogle it. Then we’re either gratified that ours are nicer or depressed that theirs are nicer.
I’ve always wondered if men (who we all know are constantly checking women out) are actually as critical in their visual assessments of women as women are of each other.
I suspect we are much more appreciative
Girls are like ice cream: Either we like your flavor or we do not. There are no bad scoops.
Men are not as critical, if it looks ok they’d s**g it, and even if it doesn’t look better than middling!!
I actually quite like the ogling, it reminds me who’s in charge here… and I love the ’slutty eyes’ reference. That’s precisely what it is!! If those eyes were dogs, they’d be off the leash and yomping down Main.
